For the last 5 years, Texas Home Educators has been coordinating Cookies for Congress all over Texas. This was an opportunity to visit your Congress person in August. The staffs were wonderful in teaching the children about what a Congress person does while the locality of the offices helped the children understand that someone near their homes made the law on a national level. We have had lots of positive feedback from families and Congress personnel over the years, not to mention the great pictures!
However, due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel Cookies for Congress this August. As it’s now vital to limit social contact, we hope you can understand the steps we’re taking to help keep elected officials and your families safe and help prevent the further spread of the virus.
