The recent floods across the Texas Hill Country have left a devastating path of destruction, displacing families and destroying homes, communities—and schoolrooms. While relief agencies are working hard to restore basic needs like food and shelter, many homeschool families are quietly facing the loss of their educational materials and learning environments.

At Texas Home Educators, we recognize that for homeschoolers, the schoolroom is often the heart of the home. When curriculum, books, and supplies are lost, it can feel like your entire school year is gone. Co-ops and local homeschool groups are also dealing with the loss of equipment and shared resources. And unlike public schools, homeschool families don’t have a built-in system to help them recover.

That’s why Texas Home Educators has launched the Rainy Day Fund—a dedicated relief effort focused on helping affected homeschool families rebuild their schoolrooms and get back to learning as soon as possible.

Through the Rainy Day Fund, we’re collecting donations to:

  • Help families replace lost curriculum, books, and supplies
  • Assist homeschool co-ops and groups in restoring materials and equipment
  • Offer direct aid where it’s needed most

We’re also encouraging personal connections and one-on-one giving through our Facebook group: THE Homeschoolers Helping Homeschoolers. This group allows homeschoolers from across Texas—and across the country—to reach out directly to those affected and offer support, supplies, or even a listening ear.

If your heart is moved to help, here are three ways to get involved:

  1. Donate to the Rainy Day Fund
Visit Oor Rainy Day Fund page to make a direct contribution. Every dollar goes toward restoring homeschool classrooms.
  2. Support Immediate Relief Efforts
We encourage donations to trusted organizations like Samaritan’s Purse, The Salvation Army, or Texas Baptist Men, who are actively assisting families with emergency needs like food, water, and shelter.
  3. Join THE Homeschoolers Helping Homeschoolers Facebook Group
Have extra curriculum or school supplies? Looking for a family to bless directly? Join our Facebook group and make a personal connection.

Together, We Rebuild
When disaster strikes, it’s the community that makes the difference. Public schools have government funding and infrastructure to help them recover. Homeschool families only have each other—and that’s why we’re stepping up. With your help, we can restore not just schoolrooms, but a sense of normalcy and hope for Texas homeschoolers.

Let’s do what homeschoolers do best: support one another.
